We are pleased to announce the successful completion of the Integrated Factory Acceptance Test (IFAT) of the Tilenga Project in Uganda in our plant in Monterotondo (Rome).
In 2021, we were awarded the Telecom System Integrator (TSI) contract to design, produce, test, integrate, and deliver over 20 telecommunications and security systems for the Tilenga Central Processing Facility (CPF) and the associated wells.
In order to de-risk the commissioning phase on site, we deployed and configured all the systems in our plant in Italy to make them plug-and-play once installed in their final location in Uganda. Using advanced simulation technology, we tested the integration of all telecommunication and security systems running several operational scenarios and demonstrating the performance of the systems under real stressed conditions.
The acceptance testing, witnessed by Sinopec and McDermott as EPC’s, Total Energies, and RINA, has successfully concluded with the full satisfaction of our customers. This achievement is a confirmation of our continued commitment to support our customers’ critical projects worldwide
The Tilenga Project is a key program for the development of oil and gas resources in the Lake Albert region and it is the result of a significant investment by the energy sector in Uganda. Developed by a joint venture between TotalEnergies, China National Offshore Oil, and Uganda National Oil Company, the project comprises of a Central Processing Facility and more than 400 wells. The project will result in 190,000 barrels of oil per day at peak production and will feed the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) to transport it to the coast in Tanzania.
